Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines (MPL-PH) released the top 5 heroes for the most picked, most banned, and with the highest win rate for the first two weeks of the league. These are the heroes that define the current meta of the competitive scene and show the most overpowered heroes right now.

Esmeralda tops the list with 20 games under her. As a hero, Esmeralda allows good wave management and great mobility across the map. Meanwhile, 3 marksmen have entered the top 5 win the ever reliant Beatrix, Wanwan, and Claude that all have the potential to carry a game in the mid-late game period. Finally, the fighter/mage hero Julian also entered the list with 17 games under him. Julian can easily chase and lockdown an opponent and secure a kill.

The Most Banned Heroes

The most banned heroes are composed of mostly jungle and mage heroes with Fanny taking the top spot with 33 bans. This assassin jungler is feared by a lot of teams because of her damage potential and her mobility. Even if she is spotted on the other side of the map, she can easily come to a teamfight and back up. The top 2 most banned is Ling, another assassin jungler with great mobility and execution prowess. Mages Faramis and Valentina took the top 3 & 4 slots due to their playmaking potential. Finally, Akai took the 5th spot as a fighter jungler that can single out targets and engage in a successful teamfight.

Highest Win Rate

Thamuz stunned everybody with a staggering 81.82% win rate. This exp laner can easily be left alone to farm and fight or split push the lane. Reflected in their high pick rate, Beatrix, Wanwan, and Claude also showed high win rates with 72.22%, 56.25%, and 53.55% respectively for the first two weeks. However, there is a huge difference between Beatrix and the two other marksmen. Beatrix’s abilities can fast clear waves and her critical damage can turn a teamfight around. Akai also took the 5th place for the highest win rate as Akai is a very good alternative choice in the jungle.

As of week 2, Blacklist International, Omega Esports, and ONIC Philippines lead the standings of the MPL-PH. MPL-PH Season 10 – Regular Season runs every Friday-Sunday until October 2, 2022.

5 Pokémon Champions to Expect in the Pokémon Unite Philippine Open

The Pokémon Unite Philippine Open extended its registration until August 4, 2022. Qualifiers will happen on August 6-7, 2022 while the playoffs and finals will be on August 12-13, 2022. The tournament has a 1,000,000 PHP prize pool.

The qualifier rounds on August 6-7 will consist of two 32-team brackets per day. The top two (2) teams per pool will proceed to the Playoffs on August 12.

Pokémon Unite is a 5v5 game where two teams battle it out to see who can score the most points within the 10 minutes time period. It takes teamwork and strategy to score more points and prevent opponents from scoring points. It is a different type of 5v5 game that got a lot of players curious to try it out.

For the upcoming qualifiers, teams are expected to field their very best Pokémon starters. What Pokémons can we expect to see in the Pokémon Unite Philippine Open? Here are five Pokémons that would probably make the drafts:

1. ABSOL

Absol is a jungle speedster that can deal big physical damage to the opponent in close proximity. Absol has high burst damage and mobility. However, this Pokémon requires expert ability to be played correctly and it relies on its critical damage and its unite move to be untargetable. This means that the player has to carefully watch his positioning during the game to maximize Absol’s abilities.

2. BLISSEY

Blissey is a support melee with a special damage type. It is a Pokémon that heals its allies, empowers them, and cures them of different conditions depending on the player’s moveset build on Blissey. Blissey’s Unite Move “Bliss Assistance” grants an ally Pokémon a shield and increases its attack speed and special attack for a short time. Its passive ability is Natural Cure removes all status conditions from the Pokémon. Naturally, teams would want to have Blissey on their composition to ensure sustainability of all the other Pokémons.

3. GRENINJA

Greninja is a ranged attacker that uses smokescreens to strategically hide itself and then deal great attack damage to the opponents. Its mobility and stealth is perfect for jungling. Greninja’s skills rely heavily on the accuracy and precision of its skillshots. Also, Greninja users need to be careful until they reach their power spike at level 7. Before this, Greninja is very vulnerable.

4. HOOPA

Hoopa is a ranged supporter with a special damage type. It is a complex Pokémon to play but if played strategically can help the team be healed in the battlefield and at the same time, deal damage to the opponents. Hoopa is very versatile with a strong laning potential. Its United Move is Rings Unbound. It increases the user’s max HP and creates a ring at a designated location. Each ally Pokémon can warp to the ring’s location.

5. PIKACHU

Last week, we mentioned that Pikachu is the very best starter Pokémon for anybody who is trying Pokémon Unite for the first time. Pikachu is also a very good Pokémon to play in the competitive scene because of his crowd control and huge damage. Pikachu is a ranged attacker that stuns and damages the opponent with electricity. This Pokémon has a wide attack range but tends to be very squishy.

Why Pikachu is the Very Best Pokémon Starter

For anybody who wants to get into Pokemon UNITE, the Pokemon Company’s first MOBA, players can start their journey with a strong and easy-to-use Pokemon in Pikachu.

Do you want to be the very best that no one ever was?

Pokémon UNITE is the very first Pokémon multiplayer battle online arena game for android and iOS by The Pokémon Company. It is also published by Nintendo on the Nintendo Switch. Ever since its release last 2021, a lot of long-time Pokémon fans and newly acquired fans have been playing the game, with features a match consisting of two teams of five players and whichever team scores the most points at the end of the game wins. Each player gets to pick his or her own Pokémon starter and as the game goes, levels up the Pokémon to become stronger and more impactful in the game.

A lot of people have been curious about this game and the easiest way to get themselves in the game is to pick a fairly easy-to-use starter and that’s no other than everyone’s old friend, Pikachu! Pikachu is the first Pokémon that every player starts with in the game and with good reason.

Pikachu is a strong ranged attacker that is easy to control and understand. Basically, Pikachu is a long-range type of Pokémon that attacks its opponents using electricity and sometimes causes them to be paralyzed. Pikachu is best used in the top lane or the bottom lane. Pikachu is at the top of every tier list for Pokémon UNITE.

It has a diverse set of moves that players can choose from as Pikachu’s progression goes. Here is the list of Pikachu’s skillset:

Basic Attack: Becomes a boosted attack with every third attack, dealing increased damage. This boosted attack also paralyzes opposing Pokémon for a short time when it hits.

Static: Paralyzes all opponents near the Pokémon for a short time when the Pokémon receives damage. This Ability goes on cooldown after it’s triggered.

Upon reaching Lv. 4, you can select one of the following two moves:

Thunder: Drops wicket thunderbolts, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon in the area of effect.

Volt Tackle: Has the user electrify itself and charge ahead, throwing opposing Pokémons.

Thunderbolt: Attacks with a strong electric blast, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon in the area of effect and leaving them unable to act.

Unite Move: Thunderstorm: Attacks the opposing team’s Pokémon near the user with tremendous bolts of lightning.

Every player can customize his or her own moveset depending on their playstyle. Pikachu is strong in the early game and can poke the opponent easily or take down farming camps fast. Pikachu also has a fast cooldown rate that players can take advantage of, and with this, Pikachu is absolutely great in team fights. However, players must also be careful as Pikachu is a squishy champion and is not made for close combat. Pikachu users must be cautious of Pokémons like Crustle, Snorlax, & Slowbro.

So there you have it! What are you waiting for? Download Pokémon UNITE now and play with your friends. Don’t forget to form a team and get the competitive spirit up and running and join the Pokémon Unite Philippine Open in Globe’s Gamer Grounds’ events, and get a chance to win the lion’s share of the PHP 1,000,000 prize pool.
