There are also countries like Mongolia and Cambodia that have taken up Filipinos in their squads.

Fredrinn, the Rogue Appraiser, is Your Next Great 1v1 Hero

A new hero has entered the battlefield of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Fredrinn, the rogue appraiser was released last August 12th. Fredrinn is a tanky fighter that can deal damage and chase enemies. He has a lethal skill set that can offset the damage that he takes.

A new hero has entered the battlefield of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Fredrinn, the rogue appraiser was released last August 12th.  A revered appraiser in Los Pecados, Fredrinn is infamous for appraising all his hunted treasure way too high and nobody can do anything about it but Fredrinn has his reasons. Fredrinn Vance’s past is built on painful memories of why a crystal is lodged in his chest and an adventure of finding a lost friend.

Inside the game, Fredrinn is a tanky fighter that can deal damage and chase enemies. He has a lethal skill set that can offset the damage that he takes. His skills are as follows:

(Passive) Crystalline Armor: Fredrinn stores 85% of the damage he receives as ‘Crystal Energy.’ This energy decays after 8 seconds at 5% max HP per second. Fredrinn can convert the stored energy into HP by 30% of his damage dealt and 15% for damage dealt to minions. Fredrinn gains 1 combo point each time his kill hits a non-minion enemy (up to 4 stacks).

(1st Skill) Piercing Strike: Fredrinn thrusts his sword in the target direction, dealing 150 (+8% Total HP) physical damage to enemies hit and slowing them for 2 seconds. His next basic attack is enhanced with extra attack range and deals 100 (+120% total physical attack) physical damage.

(2nd Skill) Brave Assault: Fredrinn dashes in the target direction, inflicting 200 (+80 extra physical attack) physical damage to the first enemy heroes. His next basic attack knocks the target airborne for 0.3 seconds.

(3rd Skill) Energy Eruption: Fredrinn deals 300 (+100% extra physical attack) physical damage to nearby enemies and taunts them for 1 second. Hitting an enemy hero grants Fredrinn 30 physical and magic defense for 3 seconds and reduces the coodowns of his first and second skill by 75%. This skill costs 1 combo point.

(Ultimate) Appraiser’s Wrath: Fredrinn slams his sword in the target direction, dealing 600 plus 4% of this energy as physical damage to enemies in a cone after a short delay. Enemies in the center of the area take 175% damage and this skill costs 3 combo points.

Fredrinn’s tankiness and gray health can help him easily survive the laning phase as well as teamfights. Fredrinn users can inflict an easy combo to the opponent by dashing in using Brave Assault and then casting Piercing Strike to inflict enhanced damage and slowing opponents. He can use Energy Eruption to reduce his skills’ cooldown. In teamfights, he can use the same combo and then finish the fight with Appraiser’s Wrath. Even with a long casting animation, Fredrinn’s ultimate deals massive damage.

In the early to mid-game, Fredrinn is great for 1v1s. After dashing in, Fredrinn users should try to land as many skill shots as possible to gain combo points. In the late game, Fredrinn can already serve as a useful tank and damage dealer to shield his allies from enemy heroes. The recommended battle spell is vengeance to max out his durability.

Players can put him to the test in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang [1v1] tournament in Globe Gamer Grounds earn up to 4,500 points

Tekken 7

Andreij “Doujin” Albar is the Philippines’ representative to the International Esports Federation (IESF) World Championship 2022 for Tekken 7 after winning Sibol’s qualifiers last July 31, 2022. The grand finals saw Doujin pitted against Hapon with Doujin dominating with a 3-1 victory.

There were a lot of notable Tekken 7 players in the qualifiers. The top 8 players of the qualifiers were Maru, AK, Hapon, Doujin, Coffee_Prinz, Adrian, Bakalnation, and RGN. The top 8 was played in a double elimination format with Maru, AK, Hapon, and Doujin in the upper bracket. AK first defeated Maru with a 2-1 score. This was followed by Doujin’s win against Hapon (2-0). Longtime teammates AK and Doujin battled in the semifinals where Doujin prevailed with a 3-2 victory and sent AK to the lower bracket finals while he advanced to the grand finals.

In the lower bracket, Adrian & RGN knocked out Bakalnation & Coffee_Prinz respectively from the qualifiers. Hapon defeated Adrian (2-0) while Maru bowed out of the qualifiers after a 0-2 loss against RGN. Hapon met RGN in the lower bracket semifinals and escaped with a 2-1 victory. In the lower bracket finals, Hapon continued his miracle run when he won against AK in a 3-1 fashion and earned his way to the grand finals.

The grand finals match was a tense fight. At first, Doujin got an early 2-0 lead but Hapon fought back in the 3rd round. However, in the end, Doujin’s Anna was too much to handle for Hapon and Doujin claimed the championship and secured his slot as the Philippine representative. Doujin was also part of Sibol in the 2019 SEA Games where he got the bronze medal for Tekken 7. The IESF World Esports Championship 2022 will be held in Bali, Indonesia from November 30, 2022 to December 12, 2022.

5 Pokémon Champions to Expect in the Pokémon Unite Philippine Open

The Pokémon Unite Philippine Open extended its registration until August 4, 2022. Qualifiers will happen on August 6-7, 2022 while the playoffs and finals will be on August 12-13, 2022. The tournament has a 1,000,000 PHP prize pool.

Credits to Pokemon Unite

The qualifier rounds on August 6-7 will consist of two 32-team brackets per day. The top two (2) teams per pool will proceed to the Playoffs on August 12.

Pokémon Unite is a 5v5 game where two teams battle it out to see who can score the most points within the 10 minutes time period. It takes teamwork and strategy to score more points and prevent opponents from scoring points. It is a different type of 5v5 game that got a lot of players curious to try it out.

For the upcoming qualifiers, teams are expected to field their very best Pokémon starters. What Pokémons can we expect to see in the Pokémon Unite Philippine Open? Here are five Pokémons that would probably make the drafts:

1. ABSOL

Absol is a jungle speedster that can deal big physical damage to the opponent in close proximity. Absol has high burst damage and mobility. However, this Pokémon requires expert ability to be played correctly and it relies on its critical damage and its unite move to be untargetable. This means that the player has to carefully watch his positioning during the game to maximize Absol’s abilities.

2. BLISSEY

Blissey is a support melee with a special damage type. It is a Pokémon that heals its allies, empowers them, and cures them of different conditions depending on the player’s moveset build on Blissey. Blissey’s Unite Move “Bliss Assistance” grants an ally Pokémon a shield and increases its attack speed and special attack for a short time. Its passive ability is Natural Cure removes all status conditions from the Pokémon. Naturally, teams would want to have Blissey on their composition to ensure sustainability of all the other Pokémons.

3. GRENINJA

Greninja is a ranged attacker that uses smokescreens to strategically hide itself and then deal great attack damage to the opponents. Its mobility and stealth is perfect for jungling. Greninja’s skills rely heavily on the accuracy and precision of its skillshots. Also, Greninja users need to be careful until they reach their power spike at level 7. Before this, Greninja is very vulnerable.

4. HOOPA

Hoopa is a ranged supporter with a special damage type. It is a complex Pokémon to play but if played strategically can help the team be healed in the battlefield and at the same time, deal damage to the opponents. Hoopa is very versatile with a strong laning potential. Its United Move is Rings Unbound. It increases the user’s max HP and creates a ring at a designated location. Each ally Pokémon can warp to the ring’s location.

5. PIKACHU

Last week, we mentioned that Pikachu is the very best starter Pokémon for anybody who is trying Pokémon Unite for the first time. Pikachu is also a very good Pokémon to play in the competitive scene because of his crowd control and huge damage. Pikachu is a ranged attacker that stuns and damages the opponent with electricity. This Pokémon has a wide attack range but tends to be very squishy.
